The concept of a peer-to-peer internet ledger of value, recorded as a blockchain and secured by proof of work was rst reported in 2008. Bitcoin remains the most widely used cryptocurrency to date. Hundreds of similar cryptocurrency ledgers have been subsequently created but with few exceptions they rely on the same elliptic curve public-key cryptography (ECDSA) to generate digital signatures which allow transactions to be varied securely. The most commonly used signature schemes today such as ECDSA, DSA and RSA are theoretically vulnerable to quantum computing attack. It would be valuable to explore the design and construction of a quantum resistant blockchain ledger to counter the potential advent of a sudden non-linear quantum computing advance.

November 2016
White paper release. After discussion with developers, post-quantum cryptographers and research into existing roadmap of blockchain technology, the whitepaper was written to provide an overview of quantum resistant methodologies. The Winternitz OTS+ and Extended Merkle Signature Scheme (XMSS) were identified as the optimal solutions. This investigation also revealed the necessity of QRL to stand alone as a network with interoperability in the later pipeline.
Not willing to compromise a launch with an immature PoS protocol given how much value the project currently carries — and more importantly how much value it will hold in the future, QRL announces a move to temporary Proof of Work model.
The introduction and solidification of variable key heights and signature space allows us to ensure future compatibility with almost anything. Our blockchain now includes the possibility to upgrade signature schemes (XMSS, SPHINCS, + future) and through an address format update, support different cryptographic hash functions (SHA2_256, SHAKE_128, SHAKE256 etc).
tokenforge
Tokenforge is a Germany-based infrastructure provider for the compliant tokenization of Real-World Assets (RWA). Since 2021, it has launched over 30 TokenSuite instances across five EU jurisdictions, fully aligned with MiCAR, eWpG, MiFID II, and national frameworks. The core product, TokenSuite, is API-first and modular, integrating KYC/KYB, e-signatures, custody, payments, and other regulated third-party services. Built under BaFin oversight, tokenforge integrates blockchain technology with traditional financial infrastructure. TokenSuite includes regulated services such as KYC, custody, payments, and registrar functions, ensuring compliance across different jurisdictions. The infrastructure will be expanded with EchoLayer, a decentralized network layer that enables cross-platform asset interaction, affiliate programs, and shared market access. Complementing this, IRIS is an AI-powered insights engine in development, designed to provide advanced analytics and decision support for asset structuring, placement, and lifecycle management within the ecosystem. At the core of tokenforge’s infrastructure is $TKFG, the native utility token. It enables issuers to access a 20% discount on service fees through staking and unlocks further benefits as the ecosystem evolves. tokenforge’s infrastructure is designed for institutional-grade scalability and positions itself as a foundational layer for the regulated digital asset industry in Europe.

Rivalz
Rivalz is redefining AI infrastructure by creating an AI Intel Layer to unlock new agentic economies. Built on a dual-chain DePIN architecture using Dymension and Arbitrum, Rivalz addresses one of the biggest bottlenecks in AI today: access to AI-ready, verifiable, and secure data. As we envision the web3 space to become agentic and overtake humans in the amount of transactions over time, what Rivalz is building is key for enabling this future. The core challenge that Rivalz is addressing is the need for AI-ready, verifiable and accessible data and later on intelligence. Rivalz offers a hybrid solution combining decentralized storage and high-speed agent-centric connectivity networks that cater specifically to AI's demands, ushering in the era of the agentic economy.

Fan Controlled Football League
Expected to kick off in 2018, the Fan-Controlled Football League (FCFL) reimagines American football – and the experience of being a die-hard fan – for the digital age. The FCFL will seek to deliver a compelling football product that captivates a broader digital audience. It will feature fast-paced, high-scoring action that embraces the spread-football evolution of the NCAA football and NFL games while enabling a diverse set of styles and strategies on both offense and defense ─ all controlled by the fans. Player personnel and real-time play calling decisions are all made by fans via the league’s blockchain platform, making fans the coach and general manager for their team. Fans will no longer be just viewers; rather, they will be active contributors to the games they are watching. This is a transformational shift in the way sports fans engage and interact: no more sitting back and passively watching as a team’s roster takes shape or a game unfolds. They will be essential to the league’s product both on the field and off. This is the democratization of sports, and it’s about to be realized through the most innovative sports league ever created, thanks to decentralized blockchain technology.
