The concept of a peer-to-peer internet ledger of value, recorded as a blockchain and secured by proof of work was rst reported in 2008. Bitcoin remains the most widely used cryptocurrency to date. Hundreds of similar cryptocurrency ledgers have been subsequently created but with few exceptions they rely on the same elliptic curve public-key cryptography (ECDSA) to generate digital signatures which allow transactions to be varied securely. The most commonly used signature schemes today such as ECDSA, DSA and RSA are theoretically vulnerable to quantum computing attack. It would be valuable to explore the design and construction of a quantum resistant blockchain ledger to counter the potential advent of a sudden non-linear quantum computing advance.

November 2016
White paper release. After discussion with developers, post-quantum cryptographers and research into existing roadmap of blockchain technology, the whitepaper was written to provide an overview of quantum resistant methodologies. The Winternitz OTS+ and Extended Merkle Signature Scheme (XMSS) were identified as the optimal solutions. This investigation also revealed the necessity of QRL to stand alone as a network with interoperability in the later pipeline.
Not willing to compromise a launch with an immature PoS protocol given how much value the project currently carries — and more importantly how much value it will hold in the future, QRL announces a move to temporary Proof of Work model.
The introduction and solidification of variable key heights and signature space allows us to ensure future compatibility with almost anything. Our blockchain now includes the possibility to upgrade signature schemes (XMSS, SPHINCS, + future) and through an address format update, support different cryptographic hash functions (SHA2_256, SHAKE_128, SHAKE256 etc).
Our internal code review also compliments the more general internal security review we are currently in the process of conducting.
Nordcoin Mining
Cryptocurrencies, smart contracts and other blockchain technologies are experiencing a rapid surge in popularity. With a major share of the blockchain infrastructure today dependent on consensus protocols based on proof-of-work (PoW), an efficient and intelligent crypto-mining operation is well positioned to take advantage of the ongoing expansion. NordCoin Mining OÜ is based in the IT-friendly Estonia with operations foreseen across the Nordics. The Mobile Mining Container (MMC) technology developed by NordCoin is a self-sufficientself-contained, remote controlled crypto-mining solution designed to overcome the three most significant variables affecting the profitability of crypto-mining: effective hash rate, cost of energy, and cost of space. In total, 30 MMC's will be activated, with an estimated net profit of $45,000 worth of crypto per month per container.

ICOHeadStart
ICO HeadStart™ is the safest ICO fundraising platform in the world. Our experienced team of compliance experts award only carefully selected ICOs with a seal of approval after screening before these ICOs get listed on the ICO HeadStart™ platform adhering to give our community access to the best possible ICO proposals and the highest security standards in the ecosystem. In return for ETH and BTC the community receives MOAT along with voting points. Through voting the community decides which of these ICOs get funded. Elected projects receive their funds through Escrow 2.0 after the smart contract conditions have been met. ICO HeadStart's profits will be shared for 100%: 80% will be used to exchange back MOAT from the community and 20% will be used to give funded ICOs a head start. Decentralized, transparant, simple, honest.

Gluon
Gluon’s platform establishes an interconnected network of vehicles where individuals and businesses can monitor, track, tune, and diagnose the issues in them. Not only can customers diagnose their vehicles themselves, order parts, and request bids on repairs, but they can schedule repairs, send/receive payments for services and goods. Consumers can tune their vehicles for optimal performance and/or regulate their use.Repair shops can diagnose vehicles more cost-effectively and accurately order the correct parts. Vehicle service record, repairs, diagnostics, smog tests are all stored in the Gluon secure blockchain based on the Stratis Platform.
